Los Angeles police have searched the home of Kiss bass guitarist Gene Simmons – but have stressed he is not a suspect.

The warrant executed on Thursday was by the department’s division that handles online crimes against children, according to Lt. John Jenal of the Los Angeles Police Department. The LAPD did confirm, however, Simmons and his family members weren’t suspected of any crimes.

Simmons’ wife tweeted about the incident without mentioning what happened.

She did not provide any details on the alleged crime.

The investigation is now ongoing and no arrests have been made.

Authorities requested Simmons and his family not to discuss the case to avoid undermining the investigation, publicist Cheyanne Baker said in a statement. “We couldn’t be more horrified that someone used our residence for such heinous crimes”, she said.

Gene Simmons’s Twitter account retweeted numerous tweets saying the family was not implicated and that he was on tour at the time.
