Shannen Doherty revealed she has been diagnosed with breast cancer in a lawsuit against her former management firm, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

As a result, the actress missed a handful of doctor check-ups and when she eventually got an appointment – when her coverage returned – she was diagnosed with cancer and told by doctors she could have prevented the spread of the disease if she’d had a routine check-up past year.
“Yes, I have breast cancer, and I am now undergoing treatment”, Doherty’s statement said. The actress added that she is taking care of her body and continuing to stay positive despite her circumstances.
The documents also stated that Doherty “was also informed that, had she been insured and able to visit her doctor, the cancer could potentially have been stopped, thus obviating the need for future treatment (including mastectomy and chemotherapy) the [Doherty] will likely have to suffer through now”.
Damages embrace Doherty’s lack of ability to work in addition to “vital” medical bills. The firm then terminated its relationship with Doherty in February 2014, after which time she discovered that her insurance premium had not been paid and she was “completely uninsured” until the next SAG re-enrollment period for 2015.
The said manager, Tanner Mainstain, responded to her claims in a statement released by his representative to People. He said the mismanagement led to tax audits and liens.
