When I saw a cluster of white police officers marching up to my neighbor’s house in military fatigues and helmets with large guns at the ready, my first instinct was to grab my camera and take a picture out the kitchen window.
Clarke even bought radio ads encouraging people to arm themselves against a rise in violent crime, touting Wisconsin’s Personal Protection Act and encouraging residents to “consider taking a certified safety course in handling of firearms, so you can defend yourself until we [law enforcement] get there”. Only 23 percent said black lives matter more. “Not too far from that scene where that 9-year-old was, a Tuskegee airmen, 93-years-old, was held up at gunpoint, there was a bullet-riddled building nearby, another homicide, and you didn’t see this mob really gather out and demand that something, you know, within the black community be done to change this”.
“What happened with this 9-year-old is just an inconvenience for this group to try to keep the focus on the anti-police movement going on across America”, he said. They matter to me, they matter to anyone with a speck of decency, and they certainly matter to God.
BREAM: Do you think this group has some legitimate concerns that need to be addressed? They point to incarceration rates saying they’re much higher than the population.
CLARKE: There’s a legitimate issue that I see. I was raised believing I could and should trust law enforcement.

With criminal justice and policing reform as their focal point, members of the activist group have disrupted campaign events for Vermont U.S. Sen. So the other things that are talked about, Shannon, I’m not seeing any data to suggest that any of that is true. Do you agree with Huckabee in his assessment of MLK’s presumed reaction to Black Lives Matter or do you think the civil rights icon would’ve had a different reaction to what the movement is doing and all about?
