No. 19 Florida, No. 14 Tennessee meet in SEC East showdown

Butch Jones and the Tennessee coordinators spoke to reporters on Wednesday, just three days away from kicking off SEC play against No. 19 Florida. Sports Illustrated reported that few looked at the two teams as equals going into the game, favoring Florida to win by a landslide. With a weakened defense, Tennessee will have to get points on the board and just gain confidence. “Each team has a different identity and I assume most coaches play that hand well and the players feed off that”. The Vols also need quarterback Josh Dobbs to be a risky runner, though after he ran for 136 yards against them last season the Gators will be determined to contain him. Now you have to be able to take the practice field to the game field.

Because of the positioning in the season, many believed that the outcome of this game would determine the favorite for the SEC title and who would move on to face Miami in the Rose Bowl. The Vols also continue to have insane fumble luck, recovering two of their own fumbles against Appalachian State late, including on the game-winning score. “He’s hasn’t practiced a bunch anyway. But, he ran good, you know, did some special teams things for us, which is good”‘.

“That’s a classic right there”, McElwain said. They will be without starting lineman Martez Ivey for the first half as he is serving his suspension after getting ejected last week after Del Rio went out with his injury.

On what Del Rio’s role has been this week. Obviously he’s spent a ton of time down in the training room. “Here’s the great thing about Florida, we have more than one of them”. I’ve really liked this quarterback room from the start. Those four guys are in there going through the install. It’s just preparing for them offensively and as an entire football team is challenging of itself.

“We’ll take him on the trip for part of that reason. You know, we travel four quarterbacks and he’ll be a guy”.

“Nobody has ever seen a duck pull a truck”. Davis is the Gators’ leading tackler from his middle linebacker position and he’s going to have a lot of opportunities against the Vols to fill gaps and bring down the ball-carrier for negligible gains. I told you Colton Jumper would step up and play well and he did and he did a fine job. Vols fans and/or twitter trolls dug-up an old photo in which Appleby is dressed up as Bin-Laden; And well, you can probably infer how that went after Twitter got ahold of it. I’m not into censorship. I think they have a great defensive line, great linebackers and secondary. Tennessee’s play through the first three weeks has left a lot to be desired, there’s major concerns on the offensive line and with the passing attack.

If Dobbs plays like a veteran, then throwing the ball to the opposing team shouldn’t be an issue, but this rodeo is all about the bold predictions, and three interceptions for Dobbs certainly meets the criteria.

“Right now, at the corners we still need the Joseph Putus of the world, the Chris Williamsons of the world to progress and come along”, he said.

“At safeties, we’ve got three pretty good safeties with Jeawon Taylor coming along, so we feel a little better about that spot”. It’s the habit that you train throughout the offseason that gets you to where you are in the season. Wilson said while referring to Florida’s winning streak over Tennessee.

“Marcus has been lights out”. While this group seems to be improved, Tennessee’s defensive line represents the toughest challenge it has faced in 2016.
