Ted Cruz to offer support to Donald Trump. reports say

The on-again, off-again bromance between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump is back on again, likely much to the chagrin of Glenn Beck.

Voters are slightly more likely to trust Trump than Clinton on handling gun laws, 39 per cent to 35 per cent.

Clinton had a four-percentage point advantage in support over Trump ahead of their first United States presidential debate set for Monday, according to the latest Reuters/Ipsos national tracking poll released on Friday. He also suggested that Cruz’s father was somehow involved in the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy – items Cruz himself cited in explaining to supporters why he did not endorse Trump at the convention. But since the contentious GOP primary, Trump has hired key Cruz allies such as Kellyanne Conway as his campaign manager, and Jason Miller as a spokesman. Trump has offered little on how he’s preparing for Monday’s prime-time debate against Hillary Clinton in NY.

He planned to spend more time preparing over the weekend, huddling with advisers such as New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, campaign CEO Steve Bannon and campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, according to Trump allies. Trump’s comments about his mortal enemy Rosie O’Donnell-“she’s a slob”, and “she ate like a pig”-made the cut, as did this musing on Kim Kardashian: “Does she have a good body? No”.

Each word, gesture and look will be parsed minutely.

As she prepared for their debate Monday night, Clinton used humor to poke at her opponent by appearing on comic Zach Galifianakis’ web program, “Between Two Ferns”. The city was under a midnight curfew after two previous nights of chaotic protests that led to one death as well as injuries, arrests and vandalism.

Trump has spent the last several weeks asking black Americans for their support and asserting that Obama has failed the black community, but those appeals have been undermined at times.
