Pittsburgh and Philadelphia renew their cross-state rivalry in an interconference matchup late Sunday afternoon in the City of Brotherly Love. If I’m wrong, and Wentz performs the way he has the previous two weeks, there’s a chance the end result is a victory – that’s just awfully hard to predict. That is why Eagles coach Doug Pederson called this game “a good test”. Despite being drafted from Football Championship Subdivision member North Dakota State and playing just two quarters in the preseason because of a rib injury, Wentz has drawn praise for his play in season-opening victories over Cleveland and Chicago.
Roethlisberger this weekend also will meet K-9 teams visiting South Jersey for the U.S. Police Canine Association National Dog Trials. This Eagles team feels like one that has something special brewing. That’s when I wonder: “Are the Eagles really good or are the Bears and Browns that bad?” He didn’t lose until the AFC championship game against New England.
Wentz has been incredible in the Eagles victories over the Cleveland Browns (29-10) and the Chicago Bears (29-14). The Steelers might be the best team in the NFL. If they limit the Steelers’ offense, Carson Wentz might be able to hit just enough big plays against the 31st-ranked secondary to pull off the upset.
The Bears won all three games.
The Denver Broncos hit the road for the first time, and they’ll be hitting anything that moves in a Cincinnati Bengals uniform. This has statement game written all over it. I wouldn’t be surprised to see plenty of WR screens on the outside and tons of timing patterns with Antonio Brown. I think he sees a ton of targets and finishes with right around 10 catches. Pittsburgh’s last win in Philadelphia came back in 1965. I believe Wentz will still do okay in this game, but will commit a few turnovers. The Steelers have only managed to get one sack as well.
This season he is back in that starter role as Bell serves a suspension for a second consecutive season. Furthermore, neither played in a Power 5 conference in college, though Wentz won four FCS national titles while Roethlisberger was a star at Miami of OH in the Mid-American Conference and was the Steelers’ first-round draft pick in 2004 with the 11 overall selection. Beating up on the Browns and Bears is nothing special, but he definitely showed some signs of greatness in those games. So much so, the coach of the Philadelphia Eagles compared Carson Wentz to a two-time Super Bowl victor – and Sunday’s opponent.
Wentz has looked great in two weeks, but I have to point something out.

Steelers offense: Overall (8), Rush (6), Pass (12). Antonio Brown is due for a strong game coming off his weakest outing in recent memory. He’s averaging 13.8 yards a catch. Jesse James will score another TD this week and his presence will begin to surface in all fantasy leagues across the globe.
