Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has suffered another setback after sustaining a groin injury in the League Cup win at Swansea City, the Premier League club said on Friday.

The opening goal arrived via some wonderfully incisive penalty-box play from Aguero in the ninth minute – his touch taking Bacary Sagna’s low cross out of his feet and creating space to drive a finish through Lukasz Fabianski’s legs.

Manchester City beat Swansea 3-1 to make it a ideal 10 victories under Pep Guardiola, including six in the Premier League, as they recorded their best start to a top-flight campaign.

Fernando Llorente’s scored his first goal in a Swansea shirt but it wasn’t enough to stop the City juggernaut.

De Bruyne would later limp off in the match with an apparent hamstring injury.

In the 58th minute Raheem Sterling nearly put City in front after rounding Lukasz Fabianski but could only find the side net.

The Belgian won the penalty that allowed Manchester City to restore their lead as Van der Hoorn clumsily put an arm cross his face and he tumbled to the floor.

We were able to stay level thanks to a hard working and energetic first half performance that required good discipline and sticking to a game plan that was effective in staying solid at the back and making the most of the chances when they were able to move forward into the attacking third.

Out of the three goals that Manchester City scored, they had four shots on target. Francesco now knows me and I know him and we are going to analyse what happened here.

Cross-city rivals United could have had something of an awakening today against Leicester.

De Bruyne has contributed two goals and four assists for City so far this term.

De Bruyne slotted into City’s midfield nearly seamlessly and gave the side another major creative boost, quickly becoming one of the team’s most productive players.

City were comfortably placed at the Liberty Stadium after Gael Clichy and Aleix Garcia Serrano scored for them.

That third goal basically killed it for the Swans as Manchester City held on to win their tenth game in all competitions on the trot and sit pretty at the top of the Premier League.
