Other high-profile celebrities to have their iCloud accounts hacked include Jennifer Lawrence, Leslie Jones, Tom Hiddleston and Scarlett Johansson.
The day before her sister Kate is scheduled to touch down in B.C. for a royal visit, Pippa Middleton has found herself in the middle of a major hacking scandal.
The Met Police said inquiries were ongoing, and no arrests had been made.
The images, taken from an iCloud account belonging to Kate’s sister and former bridesmaid, were offered to reporters by an anonymous seller via WhatsApp, The Daily Mail reported.
Naked photos of her millionaire fiance, James Matthews, were among the thousands of photos stolen, according to The Sun.
The paper said that the images offered included some of the royal children as well as wedding dresses and parties, with the seller wanting to sell in the USA because of United Kingdom privacy laws.
“The seller demanded a minimum of £50,000 (around $65,000) within 48 hours, as of Friday afternoon United Kingdom time, they said”.
Earlier this year, Miss Middleton and hedge fund manager James Matthews confirmed they are engaged to be married, with a wedding planned for next year.
The hacker reportedly offered up the photos to Britain’s The Sun tabloid..
