Pep Guardiola Accuses Yaya Touré Of Lacking Courage

Toure has been told he will not play unless Guardiola gets an apology for Seluk’s criticism of his decision to omit the player from City’s Champions League squad. I know him, I know he is a good guy, but it was hard for me as well to put Aleix García out.

Seluk, who pointed out Toure can sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January because he is in the final year of his deal, dismissed this and feels the midfielder deserved more respect. Pellegrini was a gentleman.

Seluk also claimed it is Guardiola who should be saying sorry and reckons former manager Manuel Pellegrini, because of the manner in which he was replaced, and goalkeeper Joe Hart, who is now on loan at Torino, are also owed apologies. It is not normal and it is not right to come to England and to get rid of the few English players.

Apart from making the above comments to condemn Pep Guardiola’s effort as Manchester City boss, Seluk have previously attacked his man-management skills, relationship with A-list players and inability to win big titles.

The 45 year old player said that He must apologise to his team-mates, to the club.

“If Pep Guardiola wants a war, then he can have one”, Seluk said.

That came in the dead rubber Champions League qualification win over Steaua Bucharest, and the 33-year-old has since been left out of the club’s 21-man European squad for the group stages of the competition.

He said: “It was so hard for me to leave him out of the Champions League squad”. The midfielder has only started once since Pep Guardiola’s arrival.

Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk has continued his feud with Pep Guardiola by claiming the Manchester City manager called his current employers a “s– team” in 2010.

Guardiola had on Tuesday told a press conference that Toure would play for the Citizens again only when he and his agent come low to apologise for an unpleasing statement made by the agent against him.

“But after his manager spoke – from that moment Yaya is out”.

“As a coach, I can not accept that when his player doesn’t play he goes to the media and speaks”.

So for now, no apology is forthcoming from the player’s agent, and, if Guardiola sticks to his words, then the player, who quit worldwide football earlier in the day, won’t play.

“Maybe it’s the new era, but I’m from the old generation, and an old-generation agent has to make his players his job and the coach his job”.

“I know how Dimitri Seluk loves Yaya Toure”.

Guardiola had made his threat while speaking at his press conference ahead of the EFL Cup game against Swansea City. If he has a problem call the club, and they can talk. “Until he speaks, Yaya isn’t going to play”.
