Rami Malek (Mr. Robot) and Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) both won their first Emmys for leads in drama series, while fan favorites Game of Thrones and Veep won Outstanding Series in Drama and Comedy, respectively.

The show also picked up Emmys for Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Or Fantasy Program (One Hour Or More), Casting For A Drama Series, and Costumes For A Period/Fantasy Series on Sunday. We do think that there are certainly other examples of actors who are frequently missing in action at these awards shows; in particular, we’re talking about other UK-based names as Idris Elba and Benedict Cumberbatch, who were not in attendance despite “Luther” and “Sherlock” being nominated. The glamorous event offered a few surprises as well as two big winners: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and Game of Thrones.
