Suspect’s dad: I told Federal Bureau of Investigation he eyed jihad videos
In a federal court filing Thursday, lawyers from the US Attorney’s Office in New Jersey wrote that they’ve been informed by Rahami’s medical team that “he is now incapacitated and intubated”.

Associated Press reporters Jake Pearson in NY and Eric Tucker in Washington, D.C., contributed to this item. She since has been questioned by USA investigators, and a US official described her as being “cooperative”.
He declined to say whether they might later face charges.
Radicalization has been going on in every corner of the world, mosque trustee Naqeeb Rana said.
None of the packages turned out to contain explosives.
David Patton, head of the New York City federal public defenders office, asked to meet with Rahami.
FILE- In this September 18, 2016 file photo, crime scene investigators work the scene of a pressure cooker bomb explosion in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, in NY. More than two dozen people were injured. It was removed by a bomb unit robot.
On Friday, the Rahami family left their home above the First American Fried Chicken restaurant in Elizabeth, New Jersey, at around 10 a.m.
While a timeline has been created, investigators are still not clear where Rahami allegedly built the bombs he used, according the multiple sources.
“The FBI is interested in speaking to these individuals and recovering the luggage”, the poster reads. “In two months, the Federal Bureau of Investigation came back to me and said he’s clean”. They said they are being considered witnesses in the case.
But many were shaken by a text message from authorities at around 8am on Monday, asking for help in apprehending Mr Rahami.
Two U.S. officials say a notebook with extremist ramblings was found when the man suspected of placing bombs in New York City and New Jersey was taken into custody.
Lynch spoke Wednesday at an International Bar Association conference.
The United States has charged the man arrested over attacks in NY and New Jersey with bombing, property destruction and use of weapons of mass destruction.
The federal complaint filed against Rahami in lower Manhattan court this week charges him with the use of weapons of mass destruction and bombing a place of public use, among other crimes. He said now, investigators would “make sure that we get to the bottom of who’s involved and why”.
Authorities have been trying to determine whether Rahami, a naturalized US citizen who emigrated from Afghanistan with his family at the age of 7 and lived in Elizabeth, New Jersey, had any assistance in planning the bombings or making the homemade devices. Bombs were also placed at a transport hub in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
A judge approved a visitation agreement between the two in May 2014, ordering that the child spend Christmas and Thanksgiving with the mother and the Muslim holy days Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha with Rahami.
In the meantime, FBI agents investigated claims that Rahami’s father allegedly called him a terrorist. Ahmad Rahami was not interviewed by federal agents.
Federal prosecutors say bombing suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami bought components online and recorded a video of himself igniting a blast in a backyard.
Prosecutors say the document ends: “The sounds of the bombs will be heard in the streets”. His bail in New Jersey was set without any appointment of counsel or court appearance. Another bomb went off in NY, injuring 29. “If you were to look at people who had committed acts of terrorism or had been arrested and you took a poll, you’d find that the majority of them had some kind of exposure to Awlaki”, said one USA counter-terrorism official who has followed his impact closely.

Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28, has been held in a Newark, New Jersey, hospital since he was arrested on Monday after a gunfight with police. CNN found a second family friend who confirmed receiving calls from Rahami in Pakistan, saying he had no way to leave the country.
