The FBI says it is gathering information before deciding whether to launch a federal probe into an alleged incident on a plane carrying Brad Pitt and his children.

News media inquiries into the allegations swirled in the Hollywood film community that Pitt, whose wife Angelina Jolie recently filed for divorce, was under investigation for allegedly abusing one or more of their children.
The Los Angeles Police Department, meanwhile, so far is not investigating Pitt.
Jolie’s lawyer, Robert Offer, also said in a statement that the couple’s decision to divorce “was made for the health of the family”.
However, an entertainment TV show and website reported a source close to Pitt denied anything of significance had taken place.
She ended by saying, “Finally, I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment”.
“The department has “no statement – the law does not allow us to confirm the subjects of our investigations”, a spokesperson told Vanity Fair “[We] can not confirm or deny an investigation”. The source also said “the abuse suggestions are inaccurate”.
These accusations come just days after Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt, her husband of two years.
“There’s no incident whatsoever reported to law enforcement, ” Hedlund said. In her divorce filing, Jolie lists the couple’s date of separation as September 15.

Pitt and Jolie – who met in 2003 on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and began publicly dating a few years later – were last seen together with Vivienne and Knox in July when they celebrated the twins’ birthdays in Los Angeles, California.

The source added that as well as dealing with the divorce bombshell, he was stunned by the aggressive way Jolie’s team immediately spread negative rumors about him.
