Powell: Trump A ‘National Disgrace’; Clinton ‘Screws Up’ Everything ‘With Hubris’

“He told a friend last month, “I told her staff three times not to try that gambit,” Nancy Cordes reported Powell as saying.

Powell did, however, write that Hillary “is a friend”.

“A 70-year person with a long track record, unbridled ambition, greedy, not transformational, with a husband still dicking bimbos at home (according to the NYP)”, Powell said in the July 24, 2014, email to Democratic donor Jeffrey Leeds.

The messages, the existence of which were first reported by BuzzFeed and The Intercept, were posted to DCleaks, an organisation affiliated with other recent hacks of high-profile figures. “I’m not denying it”, Powell told BuzzFeed.

New leaked emails reveal former secretary of state Colin Powell reached out to the Hillary Clinton camp following the Democratic presidential hopeful’s use of his name in defense of her private email setup. Trump has never publicly disavowed his birther belief but Rudy Giuliani claims the GOP nominee for president now concedes Obama was born in the U.S. In an email Powell criticized Trump for his viewpoint of blacks and scoffed at him for pretending to care about them.

The email in question was dated June 17 and was from Powell to his former aide and current journalist, Emily Miller.

“That’s what the 99% believe”, Powell wrote.

In another email, Duberstein wrote to Powell, “See acknowledgement in Cheney’s new book”.

Powell made headlines recently when it emerged that he had counselled Hillary Clinton on how best to keep official emails out of public view, when she took office at the State Department.

“Dumb. She should have done a “Full Money” at the beginning”, Powell wrote, suggesting that being transparent right from the beginning would have ended any controversy. DC Leaks, described by ThreatConnect as “another Russian backed Influence Outfit” – one connected to the hacker of the DNC emails, were behind the latest email hack.

They also include Powell’s thoughts on Clinton’s email woes.

At the same time, NY state’s top law enforcement official said he had opened an investigation into the Donald J Trump Foundation, citing worries the charity has been involved in “impropriety”.

Mrs Clinton has compared her use of a private email server with his use of private email and said he advised her on the matter.

About Trump’s penchant for media attention, Powell wrote: “To go on and call him an idiot just emboldens him”.

Powell has confirmed to multiple outlets that the leaked emails are authentic.
