The Sun said it had been approached by someone using a pseudonym and asking for PS50,000 within 48 hours.
The news of the arrest was reported by theBBC.
The Independent said it is believed up to 3,000 photos may have been stolen, including photos of Prince George and Princess Charlotte, children of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.
Middleton announced her engagement to Matthews in July. “I can confirm that not only have the lawyers been informed, but the police about to be involved as well”, a spokesperson for Pippa told the publication.
One tabloid newspaper in Britain reported that the hackers reached out to them in an effort to sell the photos.

The attacker further claimed it had images of Pippa Middleton’s fiance, James Matthews naked and intimate pictures of Middleton being fitted for a wedding dress. The tech company suspects a “state-sponsored” actor hacked into its network in 2014 and stole other details. Stolen information included names, email addresses, telephone numbers and dates of birth. The company said that payment data and bank account information were however spared. Ryan Collins who was charged with the offence, obtained the images from a range of celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence, Victoria Justice and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
