Loaded Gun With Scott’s Fingerprints Found on Charlotte Shooting Scene
Charlotte police released footage Saturday of the fatal shooting of Charlotte resident Keith Lamont Scott, including both dashboard camera footage and body camera footage.

Family of Keith Scott, who was killed on Tuesday, said the footage showed Scott was not acting aggressively and said the police shooting did not make sense. Within a minute of the shots being fired, officers can be heard asking for First Aid kits.
Charlotte police also released a photo of a pistol it said Scott had on him when he was shot.
Responding to coverage questioning Scott’s criminal past, his brother-in-law Ray Dotch said, “We shouldn’t have to humanize him in order for him to be treated fairly”. Putney said that his “Priority has been to maintain integrity of the investigation”.
Scott’s family cast doubt on this account.
They said they saw Scott holding a gun as he exited his truck and then return to his vehicle before he exited again.
Keith Scott was shot by police who allege he was armed.
The two-minute video recorded by Scott’s wife on a cell phone showed the scene of the shooting, but not the shooting itself.
When Scott comes into view, he has his hands at his side and is standing outside of his auto.
“It’s a tough call but since these officers are in danger I could see why some might consider it justified”, said Williams.
At his news conference, Putney said that his officers didn’t break the law but noted that the State Bureau of Investigation is continuing its investigation.
Putney said Scott was “absolutely in possession of a handgun” and had marijuana, forcing police to act because he posed “a safety issue for us and the public”. “Officers are absolutely not being charged by me at this point”, Chief Putney said.
They initially did not believe Scott to be a priority and police said that they resumed warrant operation, but a short time later an officer saw Scott hold up a gun.
Clinton on Sunday will visit Charlotte, N.C., where police killed a black man earlier this week, NBC News reported.
The video depicts the confrontation between Scott and CMPD police in the parking lot of an apartment complex – beginning with the officers’ approach of Scott’s vehicle, and ending with Scott’s fall to the pavement after a burst of gunfire from police.
The 2 ½-minute video released by the family does not show the shooting, though gunshots can be heard. The footage captures the sound of four shots but does not show Scott being hit.
“Officer Vinson perceived Mr. Scott’s actions and movements as an imminent physical threat to himself and the other officers”.
On Saturday, Charlotte police posted two videos online.
The incident has sparked nights of protests and looting in Charlotte.
Scott s death is the latest in a string of police-involved killings of black men that have fueled outrage across America.

An estimated 300 protesters took to the streets, leaving the freeway within a short time. He said that officials will have to look at the whole picture. A suspect was arrested, but police provided few details.
