No. 11 Wisconsin routs No. 8 Michigan State
Hornibrook actually fumbled on Wisconsin’s first offensive possession, a turnover that led to a Michigan State field goal.

No. 11 Wisconsin and No. 8 Michigan State are both off to strong starts. The incoming class will be recognized during Saturday’s game. “I think he’s just getting his feet wet”. Spartans quarterback Tyler O’Connor threw the first of his three interceptions to Badgers defensive back Sojourn Shelton, and that turned into another Wisconsin touchdown, a one-yard run by Corey Clement.
In the Big Ten opener for both teams, No. 4 MI (3-0) will host Penn State (2-1) on Saturday. O’Connor was the only player with a decent shot at him on the return, and Musso spun past the quarterback and went all the way to the end zone. There’s still a long way to go, with the Wolverines, Buckeyes, Iowa and Nebraska the next four games, but Saturday reminded us that, despite the coaching turnover, Wisconsin has been one of the most reliably good teams in college football for years. “They’re going to hit us in the mouth”, UW junior linebacker T.J. Watt said.
“That’s something that I take pride in, just staying the same level, not going too far up or too far down”, he said.
16 hours ago – It’s been quite the week leading up to the Wisconsin Badgers’ (3-0) conference opener against No. 8 Michigan State (2-0) Saturday in East.
Wisconsin was an underdog against Michigan State, but came out of it as an overwhelming favorite to get to the Big Ten Championship Game. Wisconsin took a while to wake up last week, while Michigan State took Notre Dame to the woodshed in their marquee matchup, but this is a game where you know the Badgers will not be coming out lazy with the stakes and bar raised high.
Starting a conference stretch of facing five straight teams now ranked in one of the two major college football polls, No.11 Wisconsin put a complete clinic on No.8 Michigan State in a 30-6 blowout in front of 75,503 mostly-stunned fans at Spartan Stadium.
That leaves redshirt sophomore Brett Connors, recently placed on scholarship, as the top reserve for both tackle and guard spots.
The Big Ten is looking like the best conference in college football, but whos the best team in the Big Ten?
Whether somebody salutes, puts the hand over their heart or does something else, everybody has a choice to make, Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio added after the Spartans 30-6 loss. “It just seemed like another football game”.
MI has had success getting offenses off the field, letting opponents convert just 4 of 38 third downs, the best success rate in the FBS. How the first time starter handles a hostile environment at Spartan Stadium will be one key to the game.
This was a rare blowout in the recent history of this series. Over the last few years, they have been the team to win big games in the Big Ten. Andrew Endicott, filling in for injured kicker Rafael Gaglianone, missed the extra point, keeping the game at 13-6. None was bigger (or prettier) than a 31-yard hook up with Jazz Peavy on a third-and-eight midway through the third quarter that kept a drive alive and led to a field goal and a 23-6 lead.
