North Korea says U.S. pushing peninsula to ‘explosion’
“China has been very clear that it understands the need for a new UN Security Council resolution in response to the latest North Korean nuclear test”, Kim said.

A United States intelligence official said North Korea is the only country in the world that threatens others with a nuclear attack, and that Pyongyang shows no signs of backing off its nuclear programme.
Moon refused to say what specific evidence pointed to another possible North Korea test.
The talks with Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov saw him reportedly admit that Moscow “shares concerns with the worldwide community” over last Friday’s nuclear test and would “take active part in discussions to adopt a new resolution”.
Seoul, Washington and their allies have vowed to apply more pressure and sanctions after the test, the second this year.
North Korea issued a warning after the United States flew two B-1 bombers over South Korea on Tuesday.
Guam is a USA -controlled island territory in the western Pacific, some 1,550 miles (2,500 kilometers) east of the Philippines, and about 1,900 miles (3,000 kilometers) from the Korean Peninsula.
“North Korea’s nuclear test is a unsafe escalation and poses an unacceptable threat”. Yonhap, citing an unidentified military source, said Sunday that the plan would turn areas in Pyongyang, where the North’s war commanders were likely to hide, into ashes and “eliminate those places from the map permanently”.
Days before the nuclear test, North Korea launched what were believed to be three mid-range Rodong missiles into the Sea of Japan as China was hosting the Group of 20 summit in Hangzhou.
“The standardisation of the nuclear warhead will enable to produce at will and as many as it wants a variety of smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear warheads of higher strike power”, said Kim Ki Nam, North Korea’s vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).
“I want our government and military to stay fully ready to retaliate, determined to end North Korea’s regime once North Korea fires even one missile nuclear-armed missile toward our territory”, Park told a cabinet meeting.
Unfortunately, the goal is to get North Korea to stop building nuclear weapons, something the sanctions clearly have not done. Regional disarmament-for-aid talks on the North’s nuclear ambitions have not been held since late 2008.
The bombers left Andersen Air Force Base in Guam and arrived at the South Korean base at 10:00 a.m. The divided peninsula remains technically at war after the 1950-53 conflict ended with an armistice instead of a peace treaty.

The takeoff was scheduled for Monday but was pushed back due to bad weather, The US Air Forces Korea (USFK) spokesman Christopher Bush said.
