Debate veterans say it’s best for the questioners to stay on the sidelines – and let the two candidates do the sparring themselves.
The victor of presidential debates is not the one who compiles the most debating points.
In the later debates, when only a few of his adversaries remained, he often resorted to disruptive tactics, using scathing phrases or demeaning nicknames to savage his opponents.
“Mrs. Clinton has shown herself to be a realist who believes America can not simply withdraw behind oceans and walls, but must engage confidently in the world to protect its interests and be true to its values”, the newspaper said.
“It seems like this election both of the candidates have been on a rampage to kind of tattle-tale on each other”, said Eliza Judd an18-year-old from Brentwood, who plans to vote in her first presidential election. “We were very conscious, me and my producers, that with the first woman candidate with a real shot of going to the White House, we didn’t want to have a Lazio moment”. “I can’t tell you”, he said.
Trump doesn’t want a repeat of what Republican strategist Karl Rove calls the “Crowley effect”.
“To be honest with you, and to put political correctness aside, perhaps if she was a man I would have pushed a little more”, said Carter, now a political commentator at Verizon Fios News and RNN in NY.
On Friday, the Clinton campaign released 19 pages of what they called Trump’s “seven deadly lies”, including his false assertion that he opposed the Iraq war from the start. Trump also backed Cruz’s position in a congressional squabble over internet regulation.
The debate will be divided into six 15-minute time segments that begin with with a question, NBC News reported.
Such is the case with the poll where the NBC News pollsters were “duped” when the registered Republicans they were asking, gave them the answers they did because it’s how they’re able to pollute the national media or rather, sabotage the “liberal” media industry they hate. But 11 percent of those surveyed said they liked neither candidate or were undecided about which one to back.
Clinton received a significant bump in the polls following a successful Democratic National Convention and a series of self-inflicted wounds and controversies from the Trump campaign. “Getting through a debate while maintaining your demeanor and not becoming unhinged should not be the standard”, argued Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri. The problem is that by the time you vote, debates are just part of what factored into that decision.
“It is the responsibility of the moderator to make sure the truth gets out, but the chief fact checker should be the candidates themselves”, Bob Schieffer, who moderated debates in 2004, 2008 and 2012, said at a recent forum on presidential debates at the University of Notre Dame.
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren says Donald Trump and Republicans are “making hate OK”. “The role of the moderator is to be a referee; it’s not to be a judge”.
“Hillary is taking the day off again, she needs the rest”, he tweeted Tuesday about her bout with pneumonia.
As the Manhattan mogul gained in swing states and even among the blacks, an angry Barack Obama came to the aid of his former rival-turned-guardian of his legacy. Particularly, comments that Holt made when he managed to interview The Donald to his face once at Trump Tower. Of the 255 Clinton statements reviewed, 70 were found to be mostly false, false or “Pants on Fire”.
