Google today launched a messaging app for Android as well as iOS dubbed as Google Allo.

Additionally, users can interact with Google Assistant.

Although the app debuts features that are not presently found on WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, it’s not farfetched to say Allo was inspired by WhatsApp. Yes, once again, it’s time to trade a little of your privacy for a potentially neat new feature, presuming you can get your contacts to also use Allo.

It can also answer direct questions posed to it by the user, with bespoke answers provided by Assistant based on the user’s preferences. When you start an Incognito chat, you’re enabling end-to-end encryption for your messages, and you can also set chats to expire, and even set private notifications. It will also roll out over 200 stickers created by popular independent artists aimed at Indian users. Some of the additional features of Allo are the better range of stickers, doodles, and HUGE emojis and text.

According to Google Media release chats in Google Allo are encrypted using industry standard technologies like Transport Layer Security (TLS). The app essentially learns the user’s behavior and then suggests possible replies to messages and images in conversations.

What do you think of Google Allo? End-to-end encryption has not been used as Google wants to read your conversations to reply with its Assistant.

“The company said users of the app can access Assistant by simply typing “@google” in a chat window.

“Over the coming months, your Assistant will be available in more Google products, working seamlessly throughout your day at home or on the go”, group product manager Amit Fulay wrote in a blog post.
