New York Times Endorses Hillary Clinton For President
The Times said it also wanted to persuade people reluctant of voting for her – Republicans who can not stomach a Democrat, or voters who don’t want another Clinton in power or a candidate they do not see as representing change.

Democrat Hillary Clinton had a four-percentage point advantage in support over Republican Donald Trump ahead of their first USA presidential debate, according to the latest Reuters/Ipsos national tracking poll. “He has been working closely with her debate planning team for more than a month, the sources said”. It could beat a record set in 1980 when 80 million Americans watched Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan battle it out, CBS News reported.
Donald Trump speaks during a campaign rally at the James L. Knight Center in Miami. But several newspapers with more conservative editorial boards, including the Dallas Morning News and Cincinnati Enquirer, also have recently endorsed Clinton.
Clinton’s ability to bounce back from her failings, however, is another one of her strengths as a politician and presidential candidate, according to the endorsement.
This is while Clinton faces harsh criticism for her war-mongering policies, with activists pointing the finger at her particularly for violence raging on in parts of the Middle East.
Clinton is eager to play offencse and try to get under his skin, by doing things like calling him “Donald” and questioning his net worth, the New York Times quoted campaign officials as saying.
National polls have produced varying measurements of support for Clinton and Trump during the 2016 campaign.
Trump’s main strategy during debates is often to attack and insult opponents, the analysts said. The paper also backed Clinton in her primary race against Barack Obama in 2008. The exchange showed how Clinton’s humor could be an effective countermeasure to Trump. “My conscience tells me I must do whatever I can to stop that”. “There’s not a ‘I’m going to go in there and do this.’ He isn’t a robot”, Trump Jr. said. Overall, that’s a good thing-there’s an honesty to acknowledging that a newspaper or website is comprised of many varied voices and opinions, not one monolithic, united front.
Among college educated white women, Clinton leads Trump in the poll by 57 percent to 32 percent. Candidates will then have an opportunity to respond to each other. At Monday’s event, there will be six segments of approximately 15 minutes each on major topics to be selected by the moderator, Lester Holt.

According to a Real Clear Politics average of recent polls, Clinton now maintains a three-point lead with 46.2 percent over Trump with 43.2 percent.
