Tech giant Google has muscled in on the chat app market with a new “smart” messaging app for Android and iOS.

Other features include a “Smart reply” function that uses Google’s machine learning technology to suggest several replies to messages that you receive. If your friend sends you a photo of their pet, you might see smart reply suggestions like “aww cute!”. It is also enabled with a preview version of Google Assistant, the California-based company’s attempt at chat-bot (programs based on artificial intelligence created to be intuitive of a user’s needs) technology.

Google Allo can also help you out in everyday situations – simply type in a question during a chat and Google Assistant will send you a direct reply.

The chats in Incognito Mode are encrypted and there is an expiry timer to chats so they disappear after a set time limit. Since bot provide you information right there in the messaging thread, you don’t have to leave a conversation to search and recommend a restaurant or video. It can keep conversation going with the help of assistance when required as well as to say more and do more too within the chats.

Respond to messages without typing a single word. Smart Reply will also suggest responses for photos.

“The more you use your Assistant, the more useful it becomes by remembering preferences and other information you ask it to”, Google said in a blog post. This application not only comes with Google Assistant integration, but has tons of interesting features which we’ve talked about in the past, but it’s worth mentioning some of them again, of course.

One of the biggest feature in Allo is Google Assistant.

Google Allo also has a feature that can protect the privacy of the user, Incognito mode.

Google Allo also aims to introduce changes in the way instant messaging transpires.

According to Android Police, if you’ve already used WhatsApp, you will feel an eery resemblance to Allo from the first moment you try out the app.
