National Football League may move game out of Charlotte due to protests

The Vikings are one of three teams in the NFC at 2-0 and a win would put them in great position later in the season when it comes to playoff positioning.

It has been impossible for the Panthers to ignore the events.

The National Guard and state highway patrol have been deployed to assist Charlotte police following the police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott this week.

“For anyone out there listening to me now”, said linebacker Thomas Davis, “this is not the way to fix the problem”. According to The New York Times, during the unrest, four officers were also injured, but the wounds are not life-threatening. “It’s not the way to go about things”. He also said that what happened Wednesday night – which included looting, vandalism and another shooting that police say they were not involved in – didn’t solve anything.

The league MVP did have some strong comments Wednesday about social injustice and the African-American community.

Newton did praise Kaepernick’s stance, which includes calling for responsible parties to be held accountable.

The situation unfolding in Charlotte illustrates the importance of Colin Kaepernick’s resolute protest against the anthem. He said he wants to talk to people and do more research before making a decision. But I stand here right now, and for anyone that’s listening to me right now, I just hope people realize that that’s not the answer. Police said Scott was an “imminent threat” and carrying a gun, while Scott’s relatives said he was carrying a book.

Wednesday protests started peacefully, but events quickly turned violent after demonstrators reached the city’s EpiCentre, a popular area filled with bars and restaurants. He is now suing the city of Minneapolis and two of its police officers, alleging that he was a victim of excessive force and false arrest. It’s the most powerful thing we have.

Jordan says the Hornets are committed to working with “elected leaders and law enforcement to foster more trust, transparency and understanding so we can heal and grow together as a community”. The only message you’re sending doing it that way is we’re going to go out and we’re going to be violent, we’re going to be hoodlums, we’re going to go ahead and conform to the image.
