The FBI in the United States said it is “continuing to gather facts” about allegations against Brad Pitt regarding his children while aboard a private jet.

“Sources familiar with the situation tell us, Brad, Angelina and their kids were on a flight last Wednesday when he allegedly got wasted on the private jet”.

On Thursday, the FBI confirmed it was “gathering facts” in order to determine whether to pursue an investigation after allegations involving an “aircraft carrying Pitt and his children” were referred to the agency.

The case is being handled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which has jurisdiction on incidents aboard domestic U.S. flights.

The LAPD spokesperson explained because the alleged child abuse incident occurred on an airplane, the investigation is out of their jurisdiction so they handed it off to the FBI.

According to TMZ, the alleged incident took place September 14 on a private jet.

People magazine confirms that one child was involved in the alleged incident, however, some of Pitt’s other children were reportedly also present.

The source close to the actor claims he never abused his son, who was adopted as an infant in his native Cambodia.

The couple had been together since 2004, marrying in August 2014.

“It’s not true. There is no criminal investigation or any investigation of any kind against Brad Pitt”, said Sgt. Barry Montgomery, adding the celebrity website “made it up”. “We are not investigating any case, nor do we have any allegations against Mr. Pitt”.

The Daily Mail reports that Pitt is staying at the couple’s Hollywood home, while Jolie and their kids are at their Malibu property.

Jolie lists the date of separation in her divorce filing as 15 September.

Reports claim both he and Angelina have been interviewed, and that he didn’t go back to the family house with kids Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight, and his now-estranged wife. Robert Offer, an attorney for the family, said Jolie’s decision was made “for the health of the family”, according to an Associated Press report.
