Moyes ‘not impressed’ with Van Aanholt
Sunderland left-back Patrick van Aanholt has been disciplined by David Moyes.

David Moyes was “not impressed” by newspaper pictures of Van Aanholt apparently smoking such a hookah at a central Newcastle shisha lounge this summer and has made it clear that he will not countenance any repeats.
“I didn’t do anything about it then and I don’t expect to be doing anything about it just now unless something dramatically changes”. I have a had a word with him.
The only change to the team that played at White Hart Lane saw Patrick van Aanholt come into the side in place of Jason Denayer, as Moyes named the side that he had meant to play against Spurs before the late withdrawal of the Dutchman. I am not impressed.
“We were offered Adebayor probably about four or five weeks ago”, Moyes told reporters.
‘They are role models to so many kids, they are watched all over the world. I don’t think it’s a good thing for our younger supporters to see. Things are done with Twitter and all the other things now, you have to be careful and aware of how you behave’.
Jermain Defoe missed the cup game with a knock, while Adnan Januzaj was suspended, and both returned to the line-up.
Kirchhoff kept a positive outlook going into the game, pointing out that “our injured players are back” and that Sunderland now “have nearly a full squad available”.
Moyes added: “Players have to be super fit, we need to get Sunderland super fit and in a great condition to compete in games”.

“It’s a short career as well so if you are a player, you earn really good money being a professional footballer, it’s a great life. It’s not too big a deal just to make sure you look after yourself for the time you’re playing”.
