#DALvsCHI: Key Matchups To Watch Sunday Night

Are the Cowboys more talented than this incredible depleted Bears team? This year they’re 0-2 against the inexperienced Osweiler and Eagles rookie Carson Wentz and will face another rookie in Prescott Sunday night in Dallas. His steady play has afforded the Cowboys the opportunity not to repeat their mistakes from last season.

The OddsShark Computer is projecting an 18.8-14.5 Vikings victory on Sunday night, but Minnesota’s quarterback issues foster doubt about their chances against the Packers.

Dickerson covers the Chicago Bears for ESPN’s NFL Nation. I don’t know if this qualifies among the hallowed halls of trap games past but nonetheless, it is a trap for the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have to do a better job of affecting opposing quarterbacks in the pocket. In 9 starts, Hoyer threw for 19 touchdowns and 7 interceptions, showing a strong connection with WR Deandre Hopkins.

The Chicago Bears are the fourth-rated pass defense.

Not only was Eddie Goldman the Bears’ best defensive lineman before going down Monday, other than Akiem Hicks, he’s the only Bears defensive llineman with the strength and bulk to stack the Cowboys’ front at the line of scrimmage. On offense they are, on defense they are not.

The Bears offensively are an absolute mess as they rank in the bottom of the league in every statistical category. Their offensive line hasn’t protected very well giving up eight sacks in two games. At other times, they want to look terrible. They are allowing opposing offenses to convert nearly 45% of their third downs.

The Bears will have a short night at AT&T Stadium unless the offense relieves Brian Hoyer of some pressure by running the football. That still doesn’t change some trepidation in the tone of this column.

Langford hasn’t been spectacular by any means the first two games of the season, but he has been able to find the end zone both weeks.

While the quarterback question hangs over this matchup, second-year WR Stefon Diggs and counterpart Charles Johnson could be facing a depleted secondary since CB Sam Shields (concussion protocol) and Josh Hawkins (hamstring) are banged up for Green Bay.
