Arsenal blitz Chelsea in first half to take derby spoils
Arsenal turned on the style with a 3-0 victory after goals by Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil provided Arsenal its first league win over Chelsea in five years. “We didn’t have the right attitude from the first minute”, said the Italian.

Sanchez opened the scoring for the home side in his 100 appearance for Arsenal after a defensive blunder from defender Cahill.
Earlier, Manchester United thrashed defending Premier League champions Leicester City 4-1 to vindicate manager Jose Mourinho’s decision to drop Wayne Rooney while Manchester City maintained their flawless start with a 3-1 win at Swansea City.
‘As a team we didn’t answer anything the manager asked of us, ‘ he told Chelsea’s official website. We must change this. Now we are a great team only on paper, not on the pitch.
“I think there’s always a team problem and not a player”.
Conte switched from a back four to a back three in the second half in hope of an improvement but the damage was already done.
“I have to solve the situation, which at the moment is conceding a minimum of two goals”.
“They [the two centre-backs] had an outstanding performance”, he said. I just have to solve this. The pitch speaks. The pitch is the most important thing for us: not the words, not on paper.
It showed just how reliant Chelsea is on a 35-year-old John Terry and why Antonio Conte was so keen to bring in defensive reinforcements: Kurt Zouma can not return from injury quickly enough.
I want my players to play with their own personalities.
“I don’t like this”.
‘When we played Man United at home past year it was fantastic, but I think it’s been quietly coming actually, to be honest with you’.
Wenger, who confirmed midfielder Francis Coquelin suffered a recurrence of the knee injury which sidelined him previous year, insists the fire inside burns as brightly as ever even after two decades at the helm.
The manner in which the Gunners raced to a three-goal advantage was reminiscent of a similar showing against Manchester United last season when Wenger’s men bagged three goals in the opening 20 minutes.
“He has a knee injury at the same place he had a year ago at West Brom”, Wenger said. “That’s the negative of the day”.
“We don’t know if the damage is as big. But he left the stadium in a brace and I’m a bit anxious for that”.
A quick blitz of first-half goals was enough to secure Arsene Wenger his first league win against the Blues since way back in October of 2011.
“It is necessary to stay concentrated from the first minute, especially in a massive game like the one today. You can’t be 20 years somewhere and not care, so I’m more conscious now about what Arsenal is all about, and I feel the weight of keeping people happy, and making people happy”, Wenger was quoted as saying by the Guardian on Saturday.
“After today we are thinking that we must work a lot”. Overall, with the quality of our performance, it confirmed we are on the way up.
‘We didn’t start the game in the way we wanted.

Cesc Fabregas had returned to the Chelsea starting eleven after his midweek League Cup brace at Leicester City, but the former Arsenal skipper was withdrawn nine minutes into the second half.
