“We are ready to play a constructive role in the improvement of relations between Pakistan and India, ” he said and added that China would keep raising its voice in support of Pakistan on all global forums.

Addressing the United Nations in New York, Sharif said Pakistan could not ignore India’s “unprecedented” arms build-up and would “take whatever measures are necessary to maintain credible deterrence”.

The Indian Military camp in Uri came under attack of four terrorists who reportedly crossed the Line of Control and opened fire at Indian soldiers. The bodies of the terrorists had Pakistan markings signalling that the attack was a cross-border terror.

With Pakistan repeatedly requesting the United Nations to resolve the long-withstanding Kashmir issue, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has told Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that both Islamabad and New Delhi should address their outstanding issues through “dialogue”. However, India criticised Sharif heavily and said that glorifying militants like Burhan Wani shows Pakistan’s attachment to terror.

“Peace between India and Pakistan can not be finally achieved without resolution to the Kashmir dispute”.

India also strongly slammed Sharif for glorifying Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani, who was killed on 8 July by the Indian forces.

Referring to Pakistan as global epi-center of terrorism, she adds, “terrorist entities and their leaders, designated by United Nations, continue to freely roam with state support”.

Pakistan’s air force closed a major highway on Thursday to let it practice landing jets on the road, in what it said was routine training not related to heightened tension with India after a deadly attack in the disputed Kashmir region.

“But peaceful protesters were mercilessly fired upon, blinded and critically injured”, he said.

Swarup also refrained from answering if Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Islamabad for the Saarc summit. “We hope that the two countries will step up communication and dialogue, properly deal with their differences and jointly contribute to regional peace, stability, and security”, he added.

The UN chief made the remarks when he met here with Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan. ‘The world should first put an end to nuclear activities undertaken by India’.

Also, India attacked Nawaz Sharif for hailing Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani as young leader of state. We condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, ” the PM said, adding that Pakistan was successfully carrying out Operation Zarb e Azab against terrorism.
