Siemian leads Broncos past Bengals in first road test

Coming out of the first three games of the season with a losing record has to be frustrating for the Bengals, but there’s plenty for this team to look forward to: Dalton is still the quarterback we thought he was last season, the running game is more than capable of taking over a game, the defense clamped down on C.J. Anderson and Denver’s run game, Kirkpatrick is blossoming into an excellent player and, finally, Vontaze Burfict will return next week.

Siemian was 23 of 35 for 312 yards with the four TDs and no interceptions for a 132.1 passer rating.

Siemian was 7 of 7 for 75 yards on the game-winning drive before hitting Demaryius Thomas with a 55-yard bomb with 4:23 to go as the Broncos improved to 3-0 while the Bengals fell to 2-1.

The Bengals got their dormant running game going, but were still out of sync as they fell to 1-2 for the first time in five years. Jeremy Hill ran for a pair of touchdowns and 97 yards – huge strides for Cincinnati’s pass-heavy offence – but Andy Dalton couldn’t do much after the Bengals fell behind.

The Broncos wound up winning the game handily, piling it on at the end after an interception off a broken up pass by T.J. Ward. This time a 7-minute, 2-second drive in the first quarter created first-and-goal from 5 but Siemian missed an open Jordan Norwood in the end zone, leaving the Broncos to settle for a short Brandon McManus field goal.

After two games of getting virtually nothing out of their running game, the Bengals made it a point of emphasis and got immediate results.

The Denver Broncos continued rolling on Sunday, bulldozing the Cincinnati Bengals in yet another stunning victory. Denver clamped down the rest of the way.

The Denver Broncos, who have the world’s best pass-rusher in linebacker Von Miller, have to be licking their chops heading into Sunday’s game in Paul Brown Stadium.

The Broncos switched their offensive line, with Ty Sambrailo starting at right tackle in place of Donald Stephenson, who has a strained calf. He was sacked only twice. Miller has four of Denver’s eight sacks, and it will up be to his former Texas A&M teammate Cedric Ogbuehi to keep Miller from putting Dalton on his back. The Broncos are a flawless 5-0 against the spread in their last five games played in the month of September and are a near-perfect 4-0-1 against the number in their last five games overall. He’ll still be worth streamer consideration when the Bengals host a weak Dolphins pass defense on Thursday night in Week 4. Sep.
