Stanford game? College football 2016

The Stanford Cardinals take on the UCLA Bruins in one of the college football games on Saturday, September 24, 2016 start time at 8:00 PM ET, at Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California. And tight end Nate Iese will be a target on short plays to keep the attack going for the Bruins. After a disastrous second week, a 5-2-2 record was manufactured in Week 3 and my season mark now sits at.500 just in time for the first week of Pac-12 play.

Stanford may not have completely knocked OR from the Pac-12 mountain top, but with three of the last four conference championships, there’s at least a second path that leads there.

The Bruins led the game for nearly exactly three quarters of game time – from 18 seconds left in the first quarter until 24 seconds left in the fourth – when freshman J.J. Arcega-Whiteside hauled in the game-winning score.

Arcega-Whiteside was an all-state basketball player in SC and has two uncles who played on Spanish Olympic teams.

Each time he vowed to come back better and that was his most important action. Stanford got the ball back with 2:05 left and coolly put together a 70-yard drive capped by Burns’ fade to Arcega-Whiteside, who got one foot inbounds on an acrobatic play. Stanford is known for stacking the offensive line with huge bodies and getting protection for their quarterback and feeding the ball to their playmaking running back, and this year is no different.

And ultimately it was a fade route to the high school All-American, who didn’t receive in-state offers from SC or Clemson, that won a game in the Rose Bowl. He also ran track and was a touted basketball player.

The Stanford defense, bolstered by the return of Harrison Phillips at nose tackle, kept UCLA out of the end zone for the final three quarters. You can see last week’s rankings here. “When we do it, it all pays off”. If the Bruins can pressure Ryan Burns all game and force him to make a couple mistakes, the Bruins will have much more success on defense.

Before the final 1:41 left of the game, the Cardinal had 77 passing yards.

Following a 37-yard field goal by UCLA’s JJ. He has 325 rushing yards and four touchdowns despite only playing nine quarters of football.

Christian McCaffrey and Stanford take on UCLA.

OXFORD, Miss. – Chad Kelly threw for 282 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score to help MS break a 10-game losing streak in the series dating to 1996.

Opponents, including the Huskies, will focus on containing McCaffrey.

Shaw’s had something up his sleeve for past UCLA games. Improved passing will give defenses more to account for and Shaw more options.

“We wanted to prove to the nation and to ourselves that we were the defense that we wanted to be”, defensive end Matt Dickerson said.

Shaw said there wasn’t enough time to go over all that went wrong on offense. Stanford rolled over UCLA from the first drive and the Cardinal was making plays left and right.

“Bottom line, we got to play better during the game”, Burns said.
