Man carries off, assaults passed-out woman

A 28-year-old man has been arrested by Scottsdale police on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman who passed out after she left a Scottsdale nightclub, officials said. She had been drinking and could not walk on her own, so she stayed on the ground near Camelback and Scottsdale roads while her friend went to get the auto.

At the end of the night, the victim’s friend left her alone near the bar while she went to retrieve her auto – but when the friend returned, the victim had disappeared. When the friend came back, the victim was gone.

The victim left the bar to retrieve her vehicle from the garage where the assault is alleged to have taken place.

Finally, he dropped the victim off at an intersection in Tempe. The friend said she searched for her, called her and thought the woman had taken a cab back to her dorm room, court documents show.

Next the defense attorney told the judge, there were no statements made by the victim that she was kidnapped.

Ramirez stood before the judge in handcuffs during his initial court appearance as she read the allegations.

After denying sexual contact, he admitted to having “consensual sex” with her multiple times, but agreed that she couldn’t possibly have consented due to her intoxicated condition.

When taken in for question, Ramirez initially denied knowing the victim.

The victim, according to police, was out drinking with friends, and became extremely intoxicated, unable to walk.

Police identified the victim as a 17-year-old Arizona State University student.

Police discovered her earring and her phone at the scene of the assault inside the garage. He’s scheduled to appear in court for his next hearing on September 29.
