“I want to commend you and thank you for introducing our part of the world to Prince George and Princess Charlotte”, Trudeau told the Duke and Duchess.

The young prince has been making headlines since before birth, and more often than not, those headlines tend to swirl around him doing normal toddler things.

“They spent a lot of time looking at the incredible views from both sides of the plane”, the aide added.

“Though let me caution you from my own experience”.

They were ferried to Canada from the United Kingdom on a Royal Canadian Air Force jet, which was flying the Duke of Cambridge’s flag from the pilot’s window after the plane taxied to a stop.

The royal couple later toured the Immigrant Services Society’s new Welcome Housing in Vancouver, where they met Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau.

Still, the children did not attend the official welcome ceremony, and the airport welcoming ceremony was closed to the public.

“Though let me caution you from my own experience, if they’re anything like our kids, getting them back on a plane after a visit to our handsome West Coast will really be a challenge”.

He said: “As any parent travelling with children knows, it’s a whole different experience when you bring your family with you”.

Evidently, Prince George isn’t into casual greetings.

A solemn ceremony at the cenotaph near the legislature marked the start of the official arrival as the couple embark on an eight-day tour of B.C. and Yukon. Online for the best and most comprehensive coverage as our royal reporter Emily Nash joins the Cambridge family on this historic tour.

William and Kate spent just under an hour at Sheway, located in the downtown eastside of Vancouver. “Their voices matter, their lives matter and their kids matter”, Zettel said.

William and Kate were in town to visit Sheway, a pregnancy outreach program that provides support to pregnant women and women with infants under 18 months who are dealing with drug and alcohol issues. That program also has a connection to the Royal Family as it was officially opened by William’s mother, Princess Diana.

It’s a packed schedule for Kate and William today and sadly, the weather looks a little cloudy in Vancouver.

The final engagement of the day will see the Duke and Duchess, Prime Minister and Mrs Trudeau learn more about the city’s emergency services.

Princess Charlotte too, with the encouragement of her mother, attempted to wave her hand before gazing around her at her new surroundings.
