Bill Clinton’s speaking fee overlaps with foundation work

Clinton spent much of his address recalling specific people who have been helped by CGI commitments, including making life-saving drugs more widely available and expanding access to clean drinking water.

Bill Clinton is fudging it with the “hundreds of thousands donors”.

The former president pushed back on criticism that donors to the Clintons Foundation engaged in a “pay-to-play” scheme, whereby donations to the foundation bought influence with Hillary Clinton during her term as Secretary of State.

The incredibly thorough Clinton Cash from author Peter Schweizer was eye-opening. The foundation would also stop accepting money from corporate and foreign entities.

Bill Clinton delivered an emotional defense of his family’s charitable foundation Wednesday, applauding those who have contributing for having “validated hope and possibilities”.

Of course, Clinton’s wife, Hillary Clinton, was the secretary of state – the head of the State Department – during the time in question.

Bill Clinton will deliver his final speech Wednesday to the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) in which he’s expected to defend the Clinton Foundation’s philanthropic efforts overseas.

“CGI quickly became an embodiment of what works best in the 21st-century world, and what has been behind all of the Clinton Foundation’s work since the very beginning: networks of cooperation”.

He added: “If Hillary is elected president, the Foundation’s work, funding, global reach, and my role in it will present questions that must be resolved in a way that keeps the good work going while eliminating legitimate concerns about potential conflicts of interest”.

Staffers at the Clinton Global Initiative are bracing themselves for job cuts in the coming weeks, a new report claims. Whether it’s publicly feuding with Black Lives Matter or falling asleep during his wife’s speech at the Democratic National Convention, the former president has made more unfortunate headlines for the campaign he’s supposed to be championing.
