Aaron Rodgers looks like old self again; Packers hold off Lions

The Lions closed the gap a little in the third quarter as the Packers led 34-17 heading into the fourth on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

Will the Green Bay Packers put their crushing Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in the rear view mirror?

“But as we get more in sync offensively, the running naturally probably comes down because the routes are being run on time and you can deliver the ball on time”, Rodgers said. Still, there are major issues of importance connected to a Green Bay Packers win against the Detroit Lions.

In what is becoming something of a routine early on in this 2016 regular season, the Packers adjusted their injury report Saturday for the third week in a row.

The Lions running game was stuffed by Green Bay’s top-ranked rushing defense (entering the game) held under 55 rushing yards and just four first downs via the ground game as well.

Prior to his premature departure, quarterback Aaron Rodgers targeted Cook three times, resulting in one reception for 15 yards. Matthew Stafford completed 22 of 40 passes for 260 yards and one touchdown against one interception. This time, Green Bay is working top receiver Jordy Nelson back into the system after he hurt was last preseason.

Rodgers knows he must play better as the Packers begin a rare four-game homestand.

“I didn’t play as well as I wanted to last week and I turned the ball over twice, and I can’t do that if we’re going to win the game”.

“Greatness”, Caldwell says, is what he sees when he watches the tape. Riddick, who is already a proven threat in the passing game, had a career-high 11 carries for 37 yards against the Titans.

The Packers ruled out linebacker Clay Matthews and safety Morgan Burnett for today’s game.

Seven Lions who were listed as questionable on Friday are active today: TE Eric Ebron (back), DE Wallace Gilberry (abdomen), T Riley Reiff (ankle), DE Devin Taylor (ankle), LB Kyle Van Noy (calf), DT Tyrunn Walker (calf), G Larry Warford (illness).

The bad news, of course, is that Green Bay has also been plagued by its own set of injuries as defensive startersClay Matthews, Sam Shields andMorgan Burnett will all be out of uniform for their team’s opening home game at storied Lambeau Field.
