Wisconsin came into the season unranked.

John Wolford ran for two touchdowns and threw for another, and Jessie Bates returned an interception for a third score Saturday to lead Wake Forest past IN, 33-28, IN Bloomington, Ind. “The thing I love about him is he’s consistent and he works”. With UW in the driver’s seat, the Badgers relied on four team blocks as well as four kills from Bates to draw first blood and take the set, 25-16.

Michigan State Spartans running back LJ Scott runs the ball against Wisconsin Badgers cornerback Sojourn Shelton during the first half of a game at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Mich., on September 24, 2016. Even before the Badgers took total control in the third quarter, they were pressuring O’Connor and preventing Michigan State from doing anything significant with its running game. QB Tyler O’Connor was only 18 of 38 for 224 yards and three picks and was sacked four times.

As a whole, the defensive athletes play with tons of energy, they fly all over the field, and they execute the scheme to perfection. “When opportunities presented themselves with turnovers, we were able to capitalize on it”.

Brooks, the team’s leading rusher last season, missed the first two games because of a broken foot.

After the game, Dantonio was asked about his team’s quarterbacks, but insists that O’Connor will be the starter going forward. “That’s what we were banking on. I don’t think you abandon someone when they’re having a tough day”.

Michigan State (2-1, 0-1) was down 13-6 early in the third and had the ball in Wisconsin territory when L.J. Scott’s fumble bounced to Musso in the secondary. IN kept things close past year through three quarters until the Spartans ran off a 24-0 fourth quarter in which it controlled the ball for more than nine minutes. Michigan State punter Jake Hartbarger couldn’t handle a high snap and had to fall on the ball at his 5-yard line. Corey Clement has to get healthy, but he proved he can play through pain.

The Gators (3-1, 1-1) didn’t manage a first down in the second half until an 86-yard touchdown march concluded with a 10-yard pass from Austin Appleby to Freddie Swain with 4:17 left. Endicott kicked the extra point. But LSU was called for an illegal shift, pushing the ball back to the 15-yard line.

They can’t keep making opportune plays like Leo Musso’s 66-yard fumble return for a TD.
