The missing man is 45-years-old and was last seen by his sister, around 6:20pm.
“The Coast Guard and other searching parties are fairly confident as to when the person went overboard”.
According to press releases from the U.S. Coast Guard website, the search for the mother and son began September 18 after it was reported that the two did not return from their fishing trip.
A response boat crew and MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew searched for more than 20 hours, covering 95 square miles since the initial search began Saturday. Both crews were on scene searching about 7:25 p.m., Littlejohn said. Littlejohn said it had not been determined Sunday afternoon how long the search would continue. He is expected to come into port on Tuesday, but Groll said she didn’t know what city the freighter is headed for.
Those who searched through the night Saturday and into Sunday include crews from the Coast Guard, N.C. Fish and Wildlife Services, the Curritck County Sheriff’s Office, along with private citizens.
