Are the Patriots pressuring Jimmy Garoppolo to be ready for Thursday’s game?

There are reports that have stated that the New England Patriots are pushing for Jimmy G to “play through the pain” if he can but questions remain as to whether that is the best thing for Garoppolo. In 2014, shortly after the team selected Garoppolo in the second round, Belichick dropped a not-so-subtle hint that they were not about to go through the same freefall that happened in Indy after the Colts lost Peyton Manning. They don’t call plays.

The New England Patriots are in a bit of a quarterback crisis ahead of Thursday night’s clash against the Houston Texans.

The approach always must be the same, he said.

“I know how hard it is”, Osweiler said on a conference call Tuesday. “It’s the same preparation every week, preparing and going out there ready for a game”.

New England Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo reportedly is having trouble lifting his right arm after spraining the AC joint in his right shoulder on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. “He has been treated, like every other player”, Belichick said.

I don’t know if the Patriots push the injury (reporting) envelope or not. That’s not a football decision. While Hopkins leads the team with 12 receptions and two touchdowns, Fuller (club-best 211 receiving yards) has stepped up in a hurry by becoming the third wideout to start his National Football League career with two straight 100-yard receiving games.

“No matter what we do, you know you’ve just got to be ready and prepared to go out there and play, ” he said. “So I know that he can do that stuff”.

And while the focus this week has been on the quarterback position – for good reason – Belichick is clear to point out that his entire team is in the same situation, not just the quarterbacks, as New England works through a short week trying to stay undefeated on the season. The nine-year veteran has played on all but two offensive snaps over the first two games and reeled in a 20-yard touchdown on Sunday. Two quarterbacks will face off for the first-time ever. Gronkowski was a limited practice participant all week. In addition, linebacker Dont’a Hightower was limited in practice Tuesday after missing all last week and Sunday’s game with a knee injury. Sure, J.J. Watt is still rounding into form from disc surgery in his back, and a healthy Duane Brown would sure seem to be an upgrade at left tackle, but all in all, things have broken the Texans’s way, generally speaking.
