According to a statement by the Pakistan Mission to the UN, Mr Sharif handed over a dossier containing information of alleged human rights violations by India.

Gambhir is first secretary in the India’s permanent mission to the UN. Sharif had said in his speech that he would give Ban the dossier.

Insisting that peace and normalisation between Pakistan and India can not be achieved without a resolution of the Kashmir dispute, Sharif made a number of allegations with regard to the current unrest in the valley. Ban Ki-moon in his opening statement mentioned his concerns in the areas of West Asia and Syria without mentioning India-Pakistan or J&K.

The Baloch National Movement (BNM) condemned the Pakistani atrocities and the “ongoing military operations” in Sindh and Balochistan. India’s only condition is an end to terrorism.

She also noted that the land of Taxila, which lies 20 miles north-west of Islamabad, an important and great learning place of ancient times, “is now host to the Ivy League of terrorism”. “The effect of its toxic curriculum is felt across the globe”, she said.

He said the world was aware that both countries have nuclear weapons and any war would be detrimental to global peace.

Pakistan is a peaceful country and peaceful neighbourhood is the vision of the Prime Minister, he added. “This is self incrimination by the Pakistan prime minister”.

Minister of State External Affairs MJ Akbar slammed Sharif’s speech at the UNGA saying “We just heard a speech full of threat bluster and rising immaturity and complete disregard of facts”.

India will not hold any dialogue with a Pakistan “run by a warmachine that holds the gun of terrorism and glorifies terrorists”. “This is self incrimination by Pakistan PM”, Akbar said. “Talks and guns don’t go together”.

India has many names for armed separatist group Hizbul Mujahideen’s posterboy Burhan Muzaffar Wani-a terrorist, a militant-but none of them paint him as a hero. Wani’s death triggered a two-month-long cycle of violence in Kashmir that left 86 dead and thousands injured. “We oppose all forms of terrorism and believe in enhanced worldwide cooperation to deal with this threat” and safeguard peace. Wani is declared commander of Hizbul, widely acknowledged as a terror group.
