Julia Roberts to portray framed PTA mum
The movie – which is yet to confirm its official title – will be based on an adaptation of a book called “I’ll Get You!: Drugs, Lies, and the Terrorizing of a PTA Mom”, written by Kelli Peters and a “New York Times” journalist under the pen name of Sam Rule.

A riveting true story, it chronicles how a pair of parents in the Irvine Unified School District framed Peters for felony drug charges in order to oust her from her position on the PTA. One day, another mom angrily accused her of keeping her son waiting during the afterschool pick-up.
Married lawyers Jill and Kent Easter of Irvine, California planted drugs in Peters’ vehicle and launched a smear campaign to have her ousted from her position as president of the PTA at the Playa Vista School.
Peters was arrested and investigated, and then vindicated and after a five-year nightmare, won a $5.7 million civil judgement against the couple.
“My whole life is ruined at that moment”, Peters told People magazine in February.
The development of the film couldn’t have come at a better time, as Kelli Peters’ story recently returned to the public eye. “That moment will never go away”.
The feature project is being shopped by CAA, which reps Roberts, Peters and the book.

This might be a pretty big role for Roberts, who played real-life activist Erin Brockovich in the same titled movie a few years back and that earned her an Oscar.
