“Adrian Peterson had a successful lateral meniscus fix this morning”, the team said.

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson told ESPN on Wednesday that he will have surgery Thursday to fix a torn meniscus in his right knee and he could be out the rest of the season.

The Vikings have been decimated with injuries this season, but there is reportedly a “chance” Peterson could return for a potential playoff run if the Vikings find themselves in the NFC North race come late December, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The likelihood of him returning this year, though, is slim given the typical recovery time for the injury he suffered last weekend in the game against Green Bay.

The Vikings have not made a roster move on Peterson.

Minnesota Vikings left tackle Matt Kalil has undergone surgery to fix a labrum tear in his right hip. The surgery was conducted on Thursday morning and the Vikings called it a “successful” procedure.

Hillman started every game for the Aztecs in his two seasons at San Diego State and was first team All-MWC both seasons.

But it gets more hard as time goes on, and his hefty contract perhaps would have to be renegotiated before next season for him to remain with the team.

His Vikings, understandably an underdog despite their undefeated record, went on the road to beat the Panthers, 22-10, on Sunday without the services of their star running back. The first rounder from Baylor is another one on a long list of injuries to the Browns already this year, as the team has already lost quarterback Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown for the foreseeable future. He spent his first three National Football League seasons with the San Diego Chargers.

Shamar Stephen has filled in for Floyd in the defensive line rotation.

While McKinnon may get more carries than Asiata in Peterson’s absence, Asiata is the better pass protector and their go-to goal-line weapon. We’re not the type of team that’s going to sit back and cry about what’s happened.

Zimmer said the Vikings “are not really going to change much” offensively with Peterson out. I won’t say hit him low. but you definitely got to wrap him up because he’s so big and strong. “But he’s been playing good”.

NOTES: CB Xavier Rhodes (knee) returned to practice on Wednesday. I think he’s a great passer, and I think he makes great decisions.
