Rumor: Nintendo begins production on their NX console

Nintendo’s NX console is expected to launch in March 2017, so it’s a good sign if production has actually begun.

Early rumours have indicated that the Nintendo NX might be a powerful handheld console that can be connected to a television or can be used as a handheld device to play.

Nintendo however, has no official statements on the device to offer at the moment.

DigiTimes, a website devoted to the Japanese technology industry, is reporting that trial production of Nintendo’s NX console has begun at the Foxconn manufacturing plant.

New reports in Asia this week claim that the Nintendo NX has finally entered production at Foxconn, the same company who will also be making the PS4 Pro.

Sources have confirmed that the annual production of the NX has been estimated at around 9.5-10 million units. But while Nintendo refuse to share more information on the console publicly (for now), it looks like leaks are starting to filter through via unofficial channels.

Gaming console market has been busy for the past couple of months with the launch of Microsoft’s Xbox One S supporting HDR gaming and 4K video support, and the announcement of Sony launching its own HDR gaming console – the PlayStation 4 Pro in November. So far, the company has remained mum about the details regarding the specs and features of the device. However, fans have been skeptic of the successful tech company as it had promised a new home console on March 2015, to which it has not still administered anything concrete as of yet.

In addition to the PS4, Foxconn is also responsible for producing the Nintendo NX.

Whether or not previous leaks about the device are true remains unclear. He even added that a new Pokemon game is in development specifically for the platform, which falls in line with a recent rumour that the NX will perhaps come with Augmented Reality support.
