Raiders beat Titans 17-10 with offense not at Oakland’s best

“It felt good”, said Joseph, who had a game-high 10 tackles. It was his first rushing touchdown on the season. Tackle Taylor Lewan was flagged for unnecessary roughness on a Tajae Sharpe catch that would have given them a first down on the 3-yard-line and Andre Johnson was called for offensive pass interference on a touchdown catch a few plays later.

The Raiders head into Sunday’s game against the Titans with the top-ranked offense. That tops the 1,330 yards allowed by the 1961 Raiders and ranks eighth-worst in NFL history since at least 1940 through three games, according to Pro Football Reference. Musgrave didn’t dial up a run play until the fifth play of the drive when Latavius Murray found some running room up the middle for a 22-yard touchdown for the 7-to-3 lead. He reeled off a 36-yard run with the Titans backed up near the own end zone, and he capped a 93-yard drive by outracing a pair of Oakland defenders around the right side to the end zone for a 5-yard TD with 5:51 left in the third quarter. Tennessee has not won consecutive games since the end of the 2013 season.

In three games, he’s thrown four interceptions and four touchdowns while losing two fumbles.

Cooper in particular only snagged four of nine targets – although Carr in part was to blame, as he was a bit off today (leading guys too far, throwing behind on slant routes).

One of the big factors in Oakland’s defensive collapse has been the lack of impact from Khalil Mack.

Walker missed two of the Titans’ three practices this week including Friday’s session.

Once again, however, that doesn’t explain away the issues Tennessee has had in their other games this season. It isn’t because teams are playing softer defense; the games have been within reach so prevent defense isn’t being played.

Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker (hamstring, questionable) will warm up early to see if he can play against the Oakland Raiders in Week 3. The Raiders have also committed no turnovers and allowed just one sack. Tennessee has lost 14 of their last 15 games at home. “It’s hard to complete balls against them”. Douglas pleaded for a pass interference call, but the referees did not give in.

As Marcus Mariota continues to develop, having a player like Murray who can do a little bit of everything will be a huge help.
