Fan in gorilla suit runs on field during Lions-Bears game

“He’s so quiet. He doesn’t say much, but when he gets the ball, he has some good intentions when he’s running”, Hoyer said.

The Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears will clash on Sunday in a big game for Week 4 of the National Football League 2016 regular season.

Chicago (1-3) earned its first victory at home since October 4, 2015. Royal caught all seven passes directed to him by Brian Hoyer, finishing with 111 yards and a touchdown on a four-yard flip in the first quarter. By then, it was a familiar sequence, part of a winning formula the Bears discovered Sunday in their 17-14 win against the Lions. Whether he’ll have an easier time doing that with Brian Hoyer under center as opposed to Jay Cutler remains to be seen. Chicago visits Indianapolis next week. “Like I’ve always said, when you get your number called you have to be prepared”.

Hoyer shrugged off a similar question, saying, “It’s my role to do whatever’s asked of me”. He’s going to shoot it faster than I will sometimes because he recognizes stuff. “I didn’t know what to think”.

Regardless of the opponent, when a rookie in his first start produces the way Jordan Howard did – 23 carries for 111 yards, averaging 4.8 yards per carry – you have to take notice.

If they lose that game and fall to 1-4, they’ll look back at this weekend’s Bears loss and think about what could have been.

The Lions are having as much difficulty running the ball as the Bears.

Stafford was 23 of 36 for 213 yards. Stafford was so livid, he was yelling and gesturing at Tate while he was still making a touchdown-saving tackle along the sideline.

The Chicago Bears were 0-3 before coming into week four. Jones posted a career-high 205 receiving yards on six catches and found the end zone twice in Week 3. We just didnt perform well, coach Jim Caldwell said. “There was no rhythm to it”.

Two costly interceptions from quarterback Matthew Stafford also hurt the Lions who were driving down the field both times. The Lions settled for a 21-yard field goal by Matt Prater to cut the deficit to 7-6. But after allowing a rookie runner to go over 100 yards and a backup QB to throw for 302 while ringing up a 120.1 passer rating, certainly there’s enough blame, and finger-pointing, to go around in the visiting locker room. “We’ve got to get it right”. I’ll own up to that. “We just got to to do a better job of playing the down longer”.

“If he gets in the game, we gotta treat him just like he’s a Chicago Bear. It’s tough. It’s tough”. “We aren’t in sync right now”. Add to that Howard’s big game in his first start, and the Bears’ offensive line could be rounding into the form we envisioned when Josh Sitton was first signed. Levy has a quadriceps injury.

-After not contributing much past year due to injury, Eddie Royal has been a godsend for the Bears this season.

But the Lions have to go back and check how they are preparing for games, because for the second straight week, Detroit seemed unprepared to handle an opponent for a chunk of the game. Chicago can open up $13 million in cap space if they trade or release Cutler before the 2017 season begins, but in order to do so they have to find a suitable replacement.
