The goal of Sony’s system isn’t so much to broaden the appeal of VR beyond gamers; after all, it comes from the company’s PlayStation gaming business and requires a PlayStation 4 game console to work.

Speaking to IGN, SIE Worldwide Studios chairman Shawn Layden suggested there’ll be future generations of the PS VR headset to follow.
Fans of the iconic gaming console are excitedly awaiting the release of the PlayStation 4 Pro, as the new Sony gaming platform has definitely a lot to offer especially in terms of graphics.
VR exclusivity has been a touchy subject given the $550-and-up expense of the Oculus Rift, Valve-backed Vive and PS VR headsets.
Luckily if you’re short on cash from buying the new VR unit, Sony have bundled in an old school free demo disc in the box. PSVR’s Processor Unit, an external box, handles the processing of 3D audio.
“I’m a fairly tall dude at 6’3” so I may have stretched the vertical limits of the camera but it was a little disheartening that it could barely fit my whole body in it while I was standing in the center of my living room. Another $100 gets you a required camera for motion tracking and a pair of Move motion controllers. They’ll be miles ahead of their console competition and, given the user base of the PS4 and the price of PS VR, potentially ahead of their PC competition as well. You just plug it into the PS4. And that has a pretty substantial impact on what you experience.
USA Today’s Brett Molina says Sony’s VR headset does not only look sleek, it also feels comfortable. There are buttons to extend the headset and display to fit your head and face. There is absolutely something remarkable about trying it for the first time.
There were several moments PlayStation VR highlighted the promise virtual reality video games can deliver.
There doesn’t appear to be any must-play PlayStation VR games yet, or even just generally “good” games that I might want to play.
For PC players, the game can be played in Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10. The variety in experiences is robust, giving any player an outlet to enjoy VR.
Each of the eight games are created to be played with friends and family and you can find out more about them on the Playstation.Blog. There’s no one game that really stands out. If that doesn’t force people to adopt the PlayStation VR then I don’t know what will.
Even most average gamers won’t need the PlayStation VR.

An ad for Batman: Arkham VR, noted by Kotaku, makes a similar disclaimer: “Exclusive to PlayStation VR until 31 March 2017”.
