The new Pixel Phone by Google, is indeed very impressive, and looks to be on top of the smartphone ladder and beat out Samsung’s S and Note series, as well as Apple’s iPhone. A key feature for the new devices is “Google Assistant”, a smart service similar to Apple’s Siri. Google says it is 30 percent lighter than similar devices and created to fit over eyeglasses. “Our goal is to build a personal Google for everyone”. However, only time will tell whether its real-life applications are as good as what the demos have shown us.

“With Pixel, we obsessed over every detail, from the industrial design to the user experience”.

In the United States, the phone will be available through Verizon.

Apple and Samsung dominate the smartphone market in the USA, combining to account for almost all profits generated from smartphone sales each quarter. Verizon, for its part, is notorious for delivering updates late, which means that Google Pixel owners may not get the latest updates as soon as they’re available. Google unveiled the new handsets earlier this week and from start to finish, they sound like a hardcore Android fan’s dream.

While Android has expanded into a huge brand and into a big win for Google, the tech company has always struggled to spread strong roots in the hardware game.

So how excited are you for your pixel phones?

The Pixel handsets succeed the Google Nexus handsets and are considered the company’s first handsets.

Launching the product at an event yesterday, Google referenced the Apple iPhone’s “storage full” notification, a common sight on the screens of users.

However, Google may find it challenging to gain market share, analyst Patrick Moorhead of Moor Insights & Strategy said.
