OK, so that’s not how most National Football League players celebrate after a win, but that’s how Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott celebrated after the Cowboys 24-17 win over the 49ers on Sunday. Elliott, who carried 23 times, rushed for more than 100 yards for a second straight game and has 412 rushing yards for the season.

Prescott has not been intercepted in 131 passes through the first four games of the season.

This is where I’m supposed to get specific.

Stephen Jones told me last week on NBC 5’s Big Game Sunday that while they are ecstatic with play from Prescott, they feel like they can be an even better club with Romo in the starting lineup. “I was just pushing him back”.

According to at least one Cowboys player, it was only the latest instance in a pattern of careless actions.

In the first quarter and the first minute and five seconds of the second quarter before the Niners offense tanked, Chip ran a few plays with the zone-read where the Niners blocked the defender responsible for the quarterback so Gabbert could gain more yards running.

You won’t have to tell the Bengals not to take a young quarterback lightly. The next closest team that Prescott has faced are the Giants, who rank 11th, 18th, and 10th in those same categories respectively, and they’re also the only team to hand Prescott a loss thus far.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant denied being a habitual meeting skipper with a strong denial over reports that his career has been filled with questionable behavior. “We learned a lot previous year”. It was a trip down memory lane as the Cowboys and 49ers put records aside and played the game like they did in the 90’s when it was Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and Roger Craig against Aikman, Smith, and Michael Irvin. Kerley caught six passes for 88 yards and a career long, 33-yard touchdown reception. Unfortunately Gabbert’s pass was underthrown and hung up in the air, essentially giving Claiborne an easy interception. “We want to let him obviously stay in the pocket, not let him get out and obviously pat the ball a lot and make bad decisions back there”.

The 49ers owned a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter, but Dallas rallied for a 14-14 halftime tie. “I know that everyone associated with it prays that we have that kind of dilemma”. His third win, which equals the most by a Cowboys rookie quarterback (Quincy Carter had three in 2001), came after he was trailing 14-0 in the first half.

“We were both frustrated”, Gabbert said.

“Terrence Williams and Brice Butler, the two outside receivers combined for nine catches for 85 yards and two of the Cowboys’ touchdowns”.

Burfict and the Bengals defense definitely shouldn’t be sleeping on Prescott and the Cowboys offense.
