Sony is already selling the PlayStation VR at a profit
According to PlayStation executive Jim Ryan, Sony is expecting to sell “hundreds of thousands” of units at launch. That includes top-of-line hardware like HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, as well as smartphone standouts like Samsung Gear VR.

As discovered and talked about by Reddit users, PlayStation VR Cinema mode works with any 2D source through HDMI. The PSVR connects to the PS4 via HDMI, but not directly. At first, it seems Sony will focus on Japan ad the Asian markets, where mobile games have far more cachet than they do in the west. Virtual reality creates a sense of immersion that isn’t possible in a standard gaming experience. While the Samsung Gear VR is significantly cheaper, starting at just $99.99, it lacks the ability of other headsets and is meant to be used only with smartphones.
This year has witnessed the launch of many types and trademarks of virtual reality glasses; Companies of HTC and Oculus have launched their two glasses and Google is expected to launch its version of virtual reality glasses soon. Unfortunately, there’s no head tracking either, but this is a surprising breakthrough.
The PlayStation VR will be capable of allowing gamers to submerge into the next layer of electronic entertainment, putting themselves in the eyes of their favorite video game protagonist.
What do you think about the fact that the Xbox One is finally outselling the PlayStation 4 on a month to month basis? Official sales figures that were released earlier this year revealed the PS4 has sold more than 40 million units since launch.
If this is done correctly, then you can find the Xbox One initial menu just a few inches away. For the modest price of $399 you can become an owner of the newest Sony Virtual Reality Headset, and test it out through some of the free titles available for download at PlayStation Site catalogues.
The lack of a clear killer app hasn’t hurt PlayStation VR sales though, as many retailers around the world are now out of stock.

While Vive would remain a favorite for high-end users who are willing to pay for the exceptional features, Sony’s PSVR remains good enough for people looking out for a lower range investment.
