Mourinho returning to Chelsea with ‘no bad feelings’

Mourinho expressed little concern over the issue, even though United fans were chanting “Rooney, Rooney” for the captain to take the spot kick.

Jose Mourinho has spoken candidly about his exit from Chelsea past year, saying he harbours no bad feelings about the way he left the club.

“I am not specifically saying it is you”. I am not an Einstein.

“It’s important – very important”, he added.

“I’m very happy we got to score that penalty [for the first goal]”, he said.

As we know, however, Jose is not the sort of manager to go on the attack in these games.

“He is a self-confident boy”.

“People had a go at United on Monday”, he says.

“It is always nice for a player to score, to score at home and especially to score such a attractive goal”.

Pogba opened the scoring in the 31st minute, netting a penalty after Juan Mata had been bundled over by Fenerbahce center-back Simon Kjaer.

He has now scored three goals in his 10 games for Manchester United.

But apparently it was only a select group of players who got the attentive treatment from Mourinho as in an interview from perennial loanee Victor Moses, it’s revealed that he can be rather neglectful of those on the fringes of the first team.

The two goals would have certainly lifted a weight of Pogba’s shoulders with the Frenchman coming in for some criticism following a slow start to life at Old Trafford.

Mourinho said ahead of the game that he was fit but, with competition for places intense in the forward positions, Mkhitaryan may have to wait for his chance.

As Jose Mourinho takes Manchester United to his former stamping ground of Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea this weekend, Press Association Sport looks at what the statistics tell us. The big players wanted to be more than a team that stops others from playing.

“Mourinho just wants to win, he wants to find a method for winning and if he thinks he knows a way, he will do that”.

The Portuguese has said he does not expect a negative reaction from supporters who continued to back him last season despite Chelsea’s on-pitch struggles.

“I wish for him the best… but only after the game”. I gave everything to the club.

Conte – who last week laughed off rumours about him being on the verge of the sack after his odds tumbled at the bookmakers – will continue to deploy three central defenders which he installed two matches ago after some weak defensive displays saw them leak goals.
