It was a smoother night for Arsenal against Reading, despite only beating the second-tier League Championship club 2-0.

And the Belgium global, who was withdrawn with a little over 20 minutes to play after going down with cramp, feels that such a confident all-round performance against a team of Spurs’ quality offers evidence of the strength in depth at Klopp’s disposal.

“Big number of chances and a wonderful goalkeeper from Tottenham [Michel Vorm]”.

Performance wise, I can’t think of a time I enjoyed watch Liverpool more.

“He [Sturridge] did what he has to do and it was brilliant”.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen has said his confidence has not wavered despite failing to so far replicate the form he showed in the Netherlands. The Klopp effect has certainly enveloped the entire Liverpool side now and the more they seem to play under the German manager the better they seem to get.

Klopp handed starts to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ovie Ejaria, although it was a familiar face who put the hosts ahead.

The 2-1 victory for Liverpool was sealed by two goals from under-pressure England striker Daniel Sturridge who spearheaded a much changed Liverpool team.

Lucas Leiva was adjudged to have fouled Erik Lamela, resulting in the award of the spot kick, but the respective benches disagreed over the decision.

“They can play better, but with all the pressure around and completely new circumstances, it was really, really good”.

“We are very happy with him”, Pochettino told SpursTV.

Blessed with pace and good feet, the striker however still needs to show improvement at picking the right option of when to pass and when to shoot.

“Playing at Anfield is always very hard but I think it was a great experience to push our level, to improve a lot and learn from the game”.
