FBI email inquiry dominates as race enters final full week

Thanks to the perverse proclivities of disgraced former New York Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner, Donald Trump has been given a second wind in an election season with just over a week left. He is being investigated for having allegedly “sexted” an underage girl. The general consensus seemed to be that muted criticism out of respect for his estranged wife – and top Clinton adviser – Huma Abedin was no longer an option.

The FBI has now obtained a warrant to search those emails, and Comey has said it is unlikely any significant developments will come from the new probe, though the emails may be “pertinent” to a prior investigation into Clinton.

Trump, bolstered by FBI Director James Comey’s letter on the emails, believes he has momentum heading to the final full week of the campaign.

However, the presence of classified information is not the only problem here. During that investigation, the FBI found evidence that could be used against Hillary and Huma and could bring down the entire election for Hillary.

FBI’s revelation on Hillary Clinton’s email probe leaves campaigns scrambling to react.

Except the Democratic nominee made a decision to stay put. Each week, he’s given an update as to where we’re at-and each one has been more dire than the last.

Thought the furor over Hillary Clinton’s private emails was over?

In August of this year, The New York Post reported that Weiner sent explicit pictures to another woman, with his toddler son next to him in one of them.

Holder also said he was deeply concerned by the timing of Comey’s announcement.

The New Yorker quotes a former Justice Department official as saying, “You don’t do this [pursue cases of election candidates]…because it impugns the integrity and reputation of the candidate, even though there’s no finding by a court, or in this instance even an indictment”.

The FBI disclosure isn’t good news for Clinton, who had just begun to pull away from Republican rival Donald Trump in the polls after the release of a 2005 video in which Trump bragged about sexual assault.

On Monday, Trump held a pair of rallies in MI, which last went for a Republican presidential nominee in 1988.

Hillary Clinton was riding high.

Meanwhile, some Republicans are skeptical that the FBI’s renewed interest in Clinton’s email will erase the Democrat’s advantage.

Abedin worked as an intern in 1966 for First Lady Hillary Clinton, and in the intervening years she’s held many positions (official and unofficial) under Hillary, and she now serves as vice chairwoman of Hillary’s campaign for President of the United States. Oliver compared it to a mystery box from the movie Seven.

Clinton deplaned around 30 minutes after her plane touched down in Iowa, greeting shouted questions with a simple wave and smile.

The Post’s report began with the story of Trump attending a ribbon-cutting ceremony in NY in the 1990s for a new nursery school for children with AIDS.

But the murky intersection of the Clintons’ government, private and philanthropy work illustrate why Americans do not trust the Clintons or their inner circle.

“Be very careful. I got around it all by not saying much and not using systems that captured the data”, he advised Clinton, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said. And so, into the political fray Oliver jumped once more, resurrecting an old joke from his Daily Show days and noting that this not only threatens Clinton’s bid for president, but also threatens to loom over her presidency, should she win.
