Steven Yeun talks about the epic premiere
The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere showed Maggie (Lauren Cohan) hell-bent on seeking revenge after the Saviors’ leader brutally beat her husband to death.

Speaking to Comic Book in a separate report, Reedus stated that while Daryl’s companions do not blame him for Glenn’s (Steven Yeun) death, Daryl still holds himself responsible.
“The Walking Dead” season 7 episode 2 will air this Sunday, Oct. 30, at 9 p.m. ET on AMC. It’s disturbingly brutal! As Melissa Henson commented, there’s nothing new with zombies and killings on TV but showing every detail of a violent murder is another story and must be classified in a stricter category. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays the nefarious Negan, admitted as much to Interview magazine. And the start of Negan’s dictatorship in The Walking Dead.
Yeun’s character was killed by Negan – along with Abraham (played by Michael Cudlitz) – during Sunday’s explosive opening.
While some complained that both Abraham and Glenn’s fates were too grisly and – let’s not lie – emotionally draining to watch, many were pleased the show stayed faithful to the comic that spawned it.
“Personally for me, I think the death in the comic, Robert [Kirkman] wrote such a messed up but at the same time incredible way to take something away – to make a story as impactful as it is”.
And we were given a look at Glenn with his head split open, his eye bulging out, telling his wife, Maggie, “I’ll find you” before Negan finished the job. “He goes very, very dark”.

The twist was that The Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple and Kirkman chose to also kill off Abraham, which fans might not have seen coming. From now on, nothing will ever be the same, but things must go on! “It’s such an iconic moment”, he said on The Talking Dead. There was also filming with Negan and Rick in the RV over where the burning logs from 6.16 were.
